Place 2 Be

Place2Be – Making a lifetime of difference to children in school

About Place2Be

Founded in 1994 Place2Be is an innovative, growing charity that supports children’s emotional development by offering them a space where they can express their feelings through talking, creative work and play.  Place2Be delivers a range of services directly to children, parents and staff in schools and has been working in partnership with the Hempstead Schools for 10 years.

Parent Smart

Parent Smart is an online resource for parents and carers of 4-11 years old offering practical advice on supporting children and managing behavior. It's free to access - click here!

Place2Talk

One aspect of the service is Place2Talk – a lunchtime drop-in service which is open to all children/pupils every Wednesday and Thursday.  Here, children/pupils can make an appointment to spend 15 minutes with a trained counsellor to talk about friendships, concerns or any worries they may have.  This is a very popular service and children/pupils can attend by themselves or with friends.

Parental consent

Unless we hear from you otherwise, the school and Place2Be assumes that all children/pupils have their parent/carers’ permission to come to Place2Talk at lunchtime.  If you do not want your child to participate in Place2Talk, or would like to find out more about the service, please contact Tom Facey (Place2Be School Project Manager/Transition Project Manager) on 01634 336972 to discuss the matter further.
